Wasco's Favorite Bakery Since Day One

Who Knew Fresh-Baked Conchas Could Feel This Close to Home?

Every morning at Panadería y Pastelería La Alegria, our ovens fire up before dawn — because the aroma of warm pan dulce should greet you like family, not wait until noon.

Our Story

More Than a Bakery — It's a Gathering Place

Panadería y Pastelería La Alegria has been a quiet cornerstone of Wasco's community for years. We're not the flashiest bakery on the Central Valley — but we're the one where neighbors wave hello, where the smell of pan de muerto signals the approaching holidays, and where your order is remembered before you finish your sentence.

Everything we make follows the same rule our founders lived by: if it wouldn't feel right placed on a family table on a Sunday morning, it doesn't leave our oven. That's why our horchatas are blended to order, why our bolillos have the perfect crust, and why people drive past three exits to park in our lot.

What We Make

From Our Oven to Your Table

Every item on our display case is crafted by hand, following techniques that haven't changed in decades. Here's what our regulars keep coming back for.

Colorful conchas and pan dulce arranged on a bakery display

Pan Dulce

Conchas, orejas, cuernos, cuernos de chivo — every variety shaped by hand and topped with the distinctive sugary crust that makes pan dulce impossible to resist at 6 a.m.

Our signature
Steaming cup of café de olla with cinnamon on the side

Café & Bebidas

Café de olla brewed with piloncillo and cinnamon, thick champurrado, and horchatas blended to order — the kind of drinks that make your second breakfast feel justified.

House favorites
Beautifully decorated Mexican pastries and cakes on display

Pastelería

Tres leches, flan, pastries filled with cajeta and crema — our pastelería section is where celebrations begin. Custom orders for birthdays, quinceañeras, and everything in between.
